Richard Tamplenizza (a.k.a. Sulo) is a producer, composer, and audio professional based in Sydney, Australia. Known for his work with acclaimed hip hop group The Herd, Richard holds two ARIA-accredited gold records and has been a driving force behind some of the group’s most celebrated releases on Elefant Traks.

Over the past decade, Richard has built a diverse portfolio composing original music for film, television and commercial projects and leading audio post-production processes, including: voiceover recording, editing, mixing and sound design for all media formats including podcasts.

As the former Audio and Music Lead at independent production company Broken Yellow, he helped shape the sound of numerous award-winning productions.

His recent work includes composing the soundtrack for The Twist, an animated true-crime series on ABC iView, which earned international recognition with awards at the Banff World Media Awards, Web Series Festival Global (LA), and Webfestng (Melbourne). Season two is now streaming on China’s largest streaming platform, Bilibili.

Richard has contributed additional music to feature film Life After Fighting (Vertical, USA) and the Olympic breakdancing documentary The Big Break (Channel 9), and has scored television programs such as A Girl’s Guide to Hunting, Fishing and Wild Cooking (SBS) and China Love (Netflix). His music has also featured in multiple broadcasts of the Australian of the Year Awards on ABCTV + iView.

Outside of screen work, Richard continues to collaborate with artists and producers across genres. Most recently, he co-wrote and produced tracks for Urthboy’s album, Savour.
